Lecture: The Importance of Ethical Conduct

Edinburgh Central Mosque presents a seminar on ‘the ethical way is the right way’. A lecture by Imam Habib ur Rahman Rauf.

As the disparity of wealth in the UK increases, Muslims are said to be the least likely faith group to succeed in the labour market. This lecture aims to be a reminder that social responsibility should be taken seriously.

Attention: Building Works at the Mosque

ATTENTION: BUILDING WORKS AT EDINBURGH CENTRAL MOSQUE FROM MONDAY DEC 2nd

Building works will be carried out on the Mosque from Monday December 2nd for around two weeks, weather permitting.

Sections at the back of the main prayer hall will be cordoned off to allow this work to take place, which involves replacing the glass panels at the back of the building on both floors.

The sister’s prayer hall will be cordoned off completely throughout the works, please use the exhibition hall or library for prayer instead.

In the interest of health and safety, please respect the boundaries that are in place and do not cross them.

No work will be carried out on Friday 6th of December and both prayer halls can be used as normal on Friday and over the weekend.

We anticipate the work should be complete by Thursday 12th of December, however should there be any adverse weather the work may be delayed and over run beyond this.

We will update you when necessary and apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.

The Prophet ﷺ described certainty and wellbeing as two of the greatest gifts we can have and things we should strive for. The two are very much interrelated. How can we inculcate them in our lives? Shaykh Idris Watts gives some practical answers to this question.

Idris has been involved in Islamic education since he accepted Islam in 1998. His passion is connecting people to the beauty of Quranic Arabic which he does through his course ‘Connecting to the Quran.’ His other focus is on raising awareness of Islam’s relevance in society today and how it can help us all enhance our lives and communities in order to instil us with purpose, success and happiness.
