Edinburgh Central Mosque is pleased to announce that Eid Al-Fitr will be on
Monday 2nd of May

We extend our warmest wishes and greetings to the Muslim Community in Edinburgh, the Lothians and surrounding areas.

We pray that Allah accept our fasts, our repentance and all of the good deed of our brothers and sisters that has been performed in this blessed month. 

Our community Eid celebration will be held at Edinburgh Central Mosque between 10.30am and 2.30pm. All are welcome to join us.

Event: Falling in Love

Friday 11th Feb – After Isha (7.15pm) | Edinburgh Central Mosque is pleased to host a short course on “Falling in Love”.

This 90 minute class will be delivered in the main hall of the Mosque and will be led by one of our Imams. The focus of the discussion will be on how to deal with emotional attachments in life.

The course aims to create awareness of the positive and negative aspects of such bonding drawing from the Qur’an, Sunnah, conventional literature and the community experience. A must for every curious mind.

Ramadan Mubarak!

Edinburgh Central Mosque is pleased to announce the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan. 

The first day of fasting will be Tuesday the 13th of April
The first night of Taraweeh will be tonight, 12th of April

For tonight, more spaces for Ishaa/Taraweeh at 9pm.  Thereafter, Isha/Taraweeh listings to live at 1am each day.

IMPORTANT NOTE: For those who already have a booking for Ishaa, this is now valid for Ishaa and Taraweeh tonight.  

As we update the booking system to add more spaces you may temporarily see your booking disappear but this will return as soon as the update is complete. 

The Mosque is open for Maghrib and Taraweeh throughout Ramadan. Please familiarise yourself with the guidelines below.

May He grant us the ability to make the most of this precious time, and accept our sincere worship and righteous deeds, seeking nothing but His pleasure. Taraweeh Guidelines

What you need to know if you will be attending Taraweeh this Ramadan

– The Taraweeh booking is combined with the Ishaa booking each night.
– Booking for Ishaa/Taraweeh will go live at 1am each day.
– The Main Prayer Hall will be used for men and women to a capacity of 50, admitted from the front/main door.
– The Exhibition Hall will be used for men only, admitted from the women’s door at the back.
– There will be NO access to the washrooms, come prepared with wudu.
– Admission begins 15min before Ishaa salah
If you are booked for the Main Prayer Hall, enter and exit via Potterrow only.
If you are booked for the Exhibition Hall, enter and exit via the car park/Nicolson Square/Street only.
Do not be late. Admission ends at the end of Ishaa salah. No one will be admitted into the building after that point.
– Bring your QR code, face mask, prayer mat and a bag for your shoes.
– Your face mask must be worn for the duration of your time in the building, including during the prayer.

Iftar Guidelines

What you need to know if you will be attending maghrib throughout Ramadan this year

– The Mosque will be open at Maghrib for breaking the fast.
– On arrival, attendees will be provided with a bag containing a small, sealed pack of dates, a bottle of water and hand wipes.
– No other food will be provided.
– Food sharing/distribution is not permitted.
– Do not bring any other food with you.
– Do not offer your dates to others.
– Refrain from accepting someone’s dates, if offered.
– The Mosque will close after Maghrib prayer and re-open again 15min prior to Ishaa

Our regular guidelines in terms of attending any of our congregational prayers still applies.
– You need a booking, and to bring the QR code with you
– You need a prayer mat, face mask and bag for your shoes
– Come prepared with wudu; there will be no access to the washrooms
