Eng. Qamar Uddin from Moon Sighting UK / ICOUK is in Edinburgh and we’ve asked him to give us a briefing on the importance and practice of moon sighting in the UK at our Edinburgh Central Masjid on Wednesday 2nd August 2017 after Asar 6.30 pm (Jamat at 6.00 pm), inshaAllah.
This event is open to all brothers & sisters, and it will be most beneficial to those wishing to gain basic training on how to sight the moon in all weather conditions, inshaAllah.

With great sadness, we bid Ramadan farewell and with great happiness, we welcome the first of Shawaal marking the Eid Al-Fitr.
This means the Eid will be on 1st Shawwal 1438, on Sunday 25th June 2017.
Prayer times are as follows:

Please note, the car park will be closed for the Eid party so please make alternative arrangements by using the on-street parking.
Eid party will be free for all, with bouncy castles for the kids and food.
From 10am-4pm in the mosque car park, all are welcome.
