Ramadan 1439 timetable

With great joy we would like to announce that fasting Ramadan will start on Thursday 17th May. This means Taraweeh prayers will start on Wednesday night after Isha at 10:45pm.

Major road works outside the mosque on Potterrow

Road works on Potterrow start on the 11th of April are expected to last for a week.

This may cause disruption especially for those who park on Potterrow and George Square and for those coming to pray on Friday.

 

Please allow extra time and consider alternatives for parking and/or transport method.

Eng. Qamar Uddin from Moon Sighting UK / ICOUK is in Edinburgh and we’ve asked him to give us a briefing on the importance and practice of moon sighting in the UK at our Edinburgh Central Masjid on Wednesday 2nd August 2017 after Asar 6.30 pm (Jamat at 6.00 pm), inshaAllah.

This event is open to all brothers & sisters, and it will be most beneficial to those wishing to gain basic training on how to sight the moon in all weather conditions, inshaAllah.

Eid 1438 announcement

With great sadness, we bid Ramadan farewell and with great happiness, we welcome the first of Shawaal marking the Eid Al-Fitr.

This means the Eid will be on 1st Shawwal 1438, on Sunday 25th June 2017.

Prayer times are as follows:

5:30am

7:00 am

9:30am

 

Please note, the car park will be closed for the Eid party so please make alternative arrangements by using the on-street parking.

Eid party will be free for all, with bouncy castles for the kids and food.

From 10am-4pm in the mosque car park, all are welcome.

Itikaf 1438

The registration for Ramadan Iktikaf 1438 is now open.

 

First night of Itikaf will start Thursday (15 June) before Maghrib In’Shaa’Allah.
